I asked the young woman at reception how visitors who weren’t spa patients could book treatments and what the process was. She was unfriendly, didn’t smile and spoke as if my questions were stupid and obvious. The whole building felt unpleasant as soon as I walked in, with an atmosphere like communist Poland. When asking questions, the staff’s manner reminded me of rude hospital or National Health Fund service. It was especially disappointing because Cieplice promotes itself as a place for rest and regeneration. It’s odd that management seems not to care about the image presented at reception, where customers first come into contact with the place.

The area around the spa is lovely, with plenty to see and do, and I’d recommend staying here. On my 14-day commercial stay, the treatments and service were excellent, and the women at reception, in the restaurant and cleaning the rooms were kind and helpful. My single room was clean and cleaned daily, and towels and sheets were changed each week. Meals were very good, with buffet breakfast and dinner and lunch served at the table, though the four-person table felt a bit cramped. Free parking is about 300 metres from the building, but spaces are hard to find. There’s paid parking nearby too. I’d give the whole stay 4 out of 5.

I’m halfway through a four-week stay at this senatorium funded by the National Health Fund. The treatments are okay, and that’s what we’re here for. The staff are excellent overall; I have no complaints about the cleaners or physiotherapists, though some are more helpful than others. The kitchen staff are a mixed bag, with most being nice but not everyone. The food is very poor and almost the same every day: ham, cheese and bread, sometimes with iceberg lettuce and something they call tuna. Dinner is mostly ground beef. The soups are okay, but you have to eat what they serve or buy something yourself.

We’re returning next week for another four-week commercial stay, after spending four weeks here commercially at the end of last year. So we must have been happy enough to come back, especially because the treatments and their results matter most to us. We’re pleased with those, but some people and parts of the service don’t meet the standard set by most of the staff, and that takes away from the experience. There’s room to improve, and we can share more examples after stays at several spas in recent years. We’re especially grateful to Ms. Joanna for urogynecological rehabilitation at the highest level. That’s really why my husband decided to return. Manual therapy with Mr. Jarek and massages with Mr. Robert were also very good, and the chirotherapy was amazing. Other physiotherapists may be just as good, but these are the ones we worked with. The medical and healthcare care was also very good. Ms. Aleksandra from marketing was competent, friendly and helpful. We had no issue with the cleaning itself, but staff shouldn’t show impatience with older people who need time to get in and out of bed. One person made a rather aggressive remark: “Can’t you see, I’m busy!!!” A calmer “I’ll finish in a moment and help you” would have been better. There was also a comment about patients that others could hear. I won’t say which office, but this could be a useful example in staff training. Employees’ salaries come from patients’ contributions, though I don’t think everyone understands that. The principle should be to do what you can to help each patient. It might also be helpful to check places where patients have to stand, since there are no chairs. A few small things could have made the experience better. I worked with clients for 30 years at a large corporation, and one of my first training sessions taught me: “The client pays for your shoes, dress, room, and board.”

Cieplice is lovely in summer, with two parks and fountains, embankments, a museum, Dębowa Avenue and the thermal baths. I’d recommend it to people who enjoy sightseeing. I’ve stayed at Dom Zdrojowy sanatorium four times, always referred for rehabilitation by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). Each time I had a double room in the newest renovated building, with a large shared terrace. The living conditions and rehabilitation were very good, and treatment took place in the same main building. The dining room was on the ground floor toward the back, and there was a small gallery where I bought some nice souvenirs. 🤗😃🤩
