The room was a real letdown, even though the building itself is cosy and attractive. I paid £41 for one night at Villa Stary Kalisz. The attic room was much more cramped by the sloping walls than I expected, and while its photos were on booking.com, I felt they had been taken in a way that hid just how much of the room was affected. What bothered me most was having only a bathtub, no shower, and needing to crouch to get to it because the ceiling above it was under five feet. The room also felt very basic, more like a hostel, for that price. I once stayed in a lovely apartment in central Wroclaw for just £25. Kalisz seems unusually expensive to stay in for some reason, so if you can, stay in Wrocław or Poznan instead. There were some positives: a nearby car park, a clean room with a comfortable mattress, and a lovely breakfast included in the price. We could arrive quite late and check out at noon the next day.

For a small, cozy 3 star hotel, the value for money is extremely high. Breakfast and parking are included, and the staff are helpful and friendly. The service is great, and I recommend this little hotel.

They warned me breakfast ended at 9, not 10, and charged me for it as if it ran until 10. They wouldn't even let me have any leftovers, so I had to start the day hungry.

Breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was good too. Just avoid rooms 1 and 2: they're on the first floor by the entrance, so they get pretty loud.

The breakfast had a great selection. I liked the villa.
