Victoria Rooms

The room cost too much for the quality we got. The Wi-Fi was so overloaded across the large property that we couldn't use it. The communal kitchen was a mess, and there was no rack for drying dishes washed by hand. I also never met the owner during our five-day stay; she showed no interest and told me that's how things are now, they don't see customers. That may be unique to Karpacz. Booking and check-in were already difficult, with the owner telling us by phone where to find the keys. When we arrived, the entrance door lock was broken and hard to open. The room was dirty, with sand on the floor, cobwebs on the radiator under the window, and smelly towels. The wardrobe shifted sideways when we closed it. The bathroom door lock and ventilation grille were broken. Some bulbs were burnt out, flickering, or missing, and the radiator was rusting from the bottom up and needed replacing. My girlfriend and I have stayed in plenty of mountain accommodations, and this was one of the worst rooms we've had in several years.

The bed was large and comfortable, and the room came with two large towels and one small one. There were several hangers in the wardrobe, though it was very unstable and seemed like it could fold up every time it was opened. The bathroom had no shelf in the room or shower for toiletries, and the radiator was badly rusted. A simple cover could make it less of an eyesore and provide a shelf. The sink drained very slowly, and the hairdryer gave off an unpleasant burning smell. The small fridge leaked water onto some of the food. The kettles in both the room and shared kitchen were heavily calcified. The lights were weak or had burnt-out bulbs, the TVs had few working channels, and the Wi-Fi was weak or unavailable. The walls were thin, and the place is on a main street with lots of traffic and pedestrians. The location is very convenient, near the center and Biedronka, Żabka, Rossmann, and Pepco. There are rooms on several floors, reached by narrow stairs. The route to the parking lot has no lighting, and the crumbling stairs can be dangerous in the dark, especially with luggage or a child. The shared kitchen on the first floor has a microwave, oven, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, induction hob, and coffee maker, but no rack for hand-washed dishes. Service fell short compared with many other places we've stayed. The price didn't match the standard, or perhaps we ended up in a worse room.

There's no working Wi-Fi, and the parking spaces are too few for the number of cars. The path between the parking lot and rooms is unlit. The kitchen has no towels or cleaning supplies, and there's no dish rack. The bathroom and shower have no shelves for putting things down. Still, cleanliness and service were 10/10 :)

We slept well in the large, comfortable bed with our 5-year-old, even though we had booked a single bed. The room was spotless, with warm radiators, towels, a fridge, a kettle, and sockets by the beds. From the balcony you can see Mount Śnieżka, and Biedronka, Żabka, and the promenade are all very close. The owner was easy to communicate with and readily changed our reservation. There was quite a bit of traffic on the main street, but for the location and price, it’s good value. We’d gladly come back.
