Qubus Hotel Katowice

The Christmas market is what brought us here, and the evening meal was a highlight. Krystian looked after us really well. We were welcomed warmly at reception, parked in the hotel garage after checking in, then found a spacious room with elegant, modern furnishings and a luxurious bathroom. We’re grateful for the great service.

The location is great and the hotel itself is nicely kept, which makes the poor sleep even more frustrating. The pillows and bedding were a real letdown, and doors in nearby rooms kept slamming over and over. The sudden noise left me feeling anxious all night. It seems like this part of the guest experience hasn’t been considered, which is a shame given how nice the place and location are.

Katowice is a fabulous city, and the hotel has a luxurious feel and a lovely breakfast. I’d consider staying again, though I’m not sure they’d have me back 😅. My stay still fell short in a few ways. We arrived very early on Saturday and left Monday, but the room was never cleaned. We had put up a do not disturb sign for a while on Saturday, so I understand that day, but I don’t know why it wasn’t done Sunday. I’ve never had a hotel room go uncleaned for an entire stay before. There was only one pillow on the bed, no extra ones, and nowhere to put clothes in drawers. Staff also came across as a bit miserable and unfriendly. At the bar, I had a nice drink and later noticed my coat had fallen on the floor. A staff member had walked past several times without letting me know so I could pick it up. Maybe that’s a cultural difference, but I’d have expected someone to point it out.

Qubus felt like a little pocket of calm, even though Katowice isn’t my favourite city. We were pleased with our night there. The room was modern and spotless, and the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast had a good range of choices, and the bar staff were polite and helpful.
