Hotel Śnieżnik

For 30 Euro a double, Hotel Marhaba is a basic place to sleep rather than somewhere luxurious. The rooms are simple and clean, and the price is genuinely low. It sits just outside Klodzko’s old centre, less than a five minutes walk from the busy marketplace, on the main road heading west to three popular spa towns and the Polish-Czech border. Traffic can be noisy by day, though the road is quiet at night and I slept well. The Mlynowka Canal runs behind the hotel, where the nearby water pump makes an intermittent noise that can be a real nuisance. I liked the entrance, with flowering bushes all year round in cart-like containers. The rooms themselves feel dated, with old furniture and furnishings that have seen better days. The bathroom fittings all worked, but supplies seemed to be rationed. I had to ask reception for more toilet paper on several consecutive days. Breakfast was pretty skimpy too. There was cereal, but the jar wasn’t refilled before it ran out, and the cheese platter was empty again just seconds after being replenished. The food was fresh enough overall, and the rolls were still hot from the oven. Hotel Marhaba has recently been renamed Hotel Snieznik, but otherwise nothing has changed.
