Hotel Stary Browar Kościerzyna

The room and bathroom were lovely and very clean, as was the wellness area. I tried the beer bath. At first I enjoyed it, and my skin felt so soft afterward, but later I got nauseous and dizzy. My husband loved it. I had been drinking beforehand and don't handle alcohol anymore, so maybe it was just my stomach, or perhaps drinks are better left until after the bath bubbles. We also liked the restaurant. We couldn't eat inside, but they brought the food to our room. It looked nice and tasted good.

This turned into our favorite family restaurant nearby. We went three times in one week, which is unusual for us. The food was all delicious, with plenty of choice for adults and a pizza menu that suited the children. Some favorites were duck pierogi with creamy mushroom sauce, calzone, amazing French fries, Kashubian pancakes, and apple pie. It's a smart, welcoming place with relaxed, friendly service, great food, and outstanding beer from its own brewery. Great value too. Our waiter was super efficient and friendly, and spoke perfect English. The menu is in English as well.

The hotel is generally very good, and contactless check-in and check-out are convenient. Although it’s quite new, a few small renovations would help. The main problem is the noise at night. It’s in the city center, and the pub in the basement of the same building draws drunk people late at night.

The restaurant itself is nice, but the main courses are expensive, the portions too small, and the beer selection limited. None of the beers stood out. I'd spend the 26-46zl on a meal somewhere else.
