Hotel Kazimierz I

We came as a group of Albanian tourists and found Kazimierz I in a well situated area, with rooms that were decent for the price. Breakfast offered plenty of choices. The service, though, felt unfriendly and not very professional. The server accidentally hit me with a fork and didn’t apologize, and there seemed to be little effort to make guests feel well served or satisfied.

The location is great, with a five-minute walk to the Jewish square, nearby street food, and the main square about 15 minutes away on foot. The food around there is great too. I just wish the room had a fridge.

My parents had to move to another hotel a few doors down because their room had no hot water while work was being done at this hotel. They were offered another room, but, as you can see, it was in poor condition and very different from the one they had booked, so they didn’t want to move into it. The hotel is refusing to refund them, even though they didn’t stay any nights because of the hot water problem and the poor alternative. Some staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and one even hung up on my parents. It wasn’t the trip they’d hoped for. I understand the hotel may not have control over the hot water issue, but the way it was handled was disappointing. Luckily, they arrived on Sunday, when there was no construction work.

A charming little hotel in Krakow’s Jewish quarter. There are plenty of nearby bus, tram, and train stops, and the train station is a 10-minute walk away for trips to and from the Airport.
