Aiden by Best Western Lodz

The beds were a real highlight, with comfy mattresses and top notch bedding and pillows. Everything feels new, parking is convenient, and the staff were extremely helpful. One of the best value stays I’ve seen in a while.

The beds and pillows are the worst part. They’re absolutely horrible, and I can’t wait to leave. I’ve been here for a couple of days and find the location unpleasant too. I’ve stayed in a few places in Lodz, and this one has been the least pleasant. The staff have been strange and not very helpful. I asked about the guest information saying drinks and snacks were available 24 hours at reception. When I went for water, the receptionist seemed surprised and said the bar was closed and there was nothing. Then she changed her mind and got some from a cupboard, but when I asked for two bottles, she said there was only one. So if you run out of water, you’re stuck waiting until the shops open. For some reason, when I ask staff a question, they all seem to gather around me, almost to intimidate me. I ask one person and end up facing about five. I’m surprised this hotel gets good reviews.

This was my first stay at Aiden hotel Lodz. The room was nice and the staff friendly. The fitness room is small but does the job. I missed having a kettle and mini fridge in the room. There are two charging spots for vehicles, but they aren’t protected, and sometimes a non-electric car blocks one, which is annoying.

The staff, dinner, bar and rooms were really great. We had one of the best dinners of our trip, and all the staff spoke English exceptionally well. We liked having a quiet room facing the sunsets, and the big bath towels were lovely. We’d stay again and get our steps in, since restaurants, shops, cafés and ATMs are a 10-15 minute walk away. There was a Zabka across the street. Parking surprised me because it costs more here than at a hotel right on Piotrkowska, despite this location being farther from things. In my opinion, parking should be much cheaper here. The hotel had only recently opened when we arrived, so there were a few hiccups that I think are temporary. The phones didn’t work, the room thermostat and air didn’t work, the windows were locked, and the TV was glitchy. It would also be nice to have a kettle in the room instead of using the coffeemaker for hot water.
