Hotel Poznanski

Breakfast was good, and I especially liked the raw honey in the morning, served in a whole honeycomb 🍯. A good place to lay your head for the night.

The rooms are simple and clean, if a bit dated, so this is an okay budget hotel. The beds have spring mattresses and weren’t comfortable for me. If you’re sensitive to where you sleep or picky about beds, I wouldn’t recommend them. We didn’t have breakfast included and chose not to eat at the restaurant, so I can’t speak to that. What made our stay a two-star experience was the reception staff’s lack of understanding. We arrived after 10 pm on a weekday and couldn’t find a parking spot in front. We didn’t feel comfortable leaving the car behind the hotel, where it was out of sight, dark, and didn’t seem very safe. Staff warned that security would come and take the car if we parked somewhere not allowed, even though we were still talking about hotel property 😆. There were two disabled bays and two reserved bays sitting empty, but we had to argue for at least 10 minutes before they let us use one for the night. That’s never happened to us anywhere else in the world.

With reception open 24 hours and such easy access to the highway, this is a handy hotel for travelers. The rooms, stairs, and shared spaces were all clean and tidy.

The rooms were clean, and the one staff member there was kind and helpful. We found a small shop nearby, so at least we didn’t go hungry 😊. We stopped for the night on our way to Kaliningrad, but it was Easter and the hotel was deserted, with us as the only guests. There was no restaurant, bar, or breakfast available, which was a bit of a shock after driving 900 km. The location works well for travelers passing through, though not for tourists wanting to explore the city. All in all, it suited our needs. Thank you!
