Willa Raj

Our room was fine apart from the pillows, which were very uncomfortable, like compacted cotton wool. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rest of the building was warm thanks to heaters that worked well. Renovated Villa Raj has a beautiful interior and a glass-enclosed terrace overlooking the garden. The location is excellent, with the forest to the south, ravines to the north, plus cafes, restaurants, and Zdojowy Park close by. The spa next door at Aurelia is elegant, modern, clean, and well-equipped. Service there was excellent, including a fantastic masseuse and beautician, and the sauna and pool are free to use. We highly recommend it.

The pool, massages, and location were all excellent, but the villa needs a much better clean. Dozens of dead flies around the coffee-making area were really off-putting. The staff were average, though they could at least have wished us "cockroaches under the pillows." Bugs crawled all over us while we tried to sleep. We killed a few, maybe 8, before we could finally get to sleep.

The treatments themselves went well. The doctor was friendly and competent, and after qualifying me for treatments I had two, both of which left me satisfied with visible results. My complexion looked brighter and smoother afterward. The body massage was also given by a very nice young woman. But Gosia made the half-hour facial miserable with her attitude, and I definitely felt like a persona non grata. The location is very good, close to the center, and the room was small but cozy. There's no hairdryer in the room, though reception can lend you one. Breakfast was below current standards, with about ten items in total and, surprisingly, no coffee machine. There was hot water in a thermos for making instant or loose coffee. Apart from the pleasant doctor and the young massage therapist, the staff seemed to treat guests like a nuisance. It didn't feel very hospitable.

The treatments were done carefully in a pleasant atmosphere and were really relaxing. For the price, it was worth it. The breakfast buffet was very good, while dinner came as a "dish of the day," so there wasn't much choice. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms and rest of the facility were very nice. I've never been to a spa before, so that's the perspective I'm writing from. In good weather there's an outdoor pool, and there's an indoor one too. The ladies turn on the jacuzzi and sauna even when there are just two people. Best regards to the lovely woman at the front desk. We have very fond memories of the trip, and I highly recommend it.
