Apartamenty Chleb i Wino Torun

I had a room that felt like a proper apartment, with a large room, a kitchen, and a separate bedroom. The service was great. The building also houses Restauracja Chleb i Wino, where the food and service are great, and people even queue to get seated. I strongly recommend it!

The beefsteak on the stone was the best I’ve tried so far, and the meat was high quality. The dessert was amazing too. One downside is that you should book ahead. We came on a weekend last time and waited in line for almost an hour, but it was worth it. Highly recommend!

The apartment was ridiculously hot, with tiny windows, and some fittings and features were broken or didn’t work. We left the windows open because of the heat, then woke up to a pigeon flying around inside. Never again for me and my wife. Our place, apartment No. 11, was a loft conversion on the top floor, and there’s no elevator, so I had to carry all the suitcases up and down three floors. The location is central, but very noisy. Breakfast was tasty.

You can’t keep the light out of the room, so when the sun comes up at 4 or 5 a.m., sleeping becomes impossible. The beds were uncomfortable, even though the mattresses looked new. They were just very stiff. The location is perfect, but cars can’t get there, so you have to walk ten minutes with your trolley. The room was very outdated, but still up to today’s standards, and I’ve had much worse in well-known hotels. Service was just the bare minimum, though very pleasant.
