Hotel Książ

The castle sits in an amazing, very picturesque part of Poland, and the breakfast was excellent. The ticket-checking security staff weren’t very polite, though, and the rooms had no AC.

There are beer gardens directly below the hotel, so a good night’s sleep isn’t something to count on. The rooms were terrible: small, stuffy, and furnished with poor-quality furniture. The hotel is beautifully situated, and the breakfasts and service were decent, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The castle and the hotel’s surroundings are hard to describe, they’re so beautiful. We stayed in the castle-view suite, which had loads of space: two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom separate from the toilet. The furnishings weren’t exactly up to date, but everything was very clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was decent, with quite a lot to choose from. The WiFi signal was good, and the flat-screen TV had a fair number of Polish channels. I know the hotel is only two stars, but based on our stay I’d give it more. We’ll definitely be back.

We only had lunch at the hotel restaurant, on the left after entering through the castle gate, and I can recommend it. We got there just before it became busy, and the food was well cooked and nicely presented, kudos to the chef. Our young woman server stayed professional and attentive despite looking after so many guests. Recommended!
