Mamaison Le Regina Boutique Hotel

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in ages and well worth it. Rooms on the third floor have big terraces. The hotel is right in the Old Town, meticulously clean, nicely appointed and staffed by friendly people. There’s an attractive pool downstairs in the basement, though no fitness room.

We had a relaxing, cozy two-night stay with my son, and the Christmas decorations made the hotel feel especially warm and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was great, and the small pool was beautiful, though the water could have been a little warmer. The staff were accommodating, and the location was hard to beat. I tried another hotel on the way back, closer to the central station, and regretted it. I’d return to mamaison la Regina. The name really does speak for itself.

I stayed here over Easter and was glad I chose this hotel. The staff were so friendly, the room was beautiful and breakfast was great. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, almost as if we were the only guests. I’d definitely come back.

The room wasn’t quite what the classic double photos led me to expect: I got a smaller space with one window instead of two, though the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was good, and the lobby looked beautiful with its Christmas decorations. The location was excellent too. My main frustration was the late check-out request. I asked on arrival and again the next morning, and both times got the same stock reply that the hotel was full, with no alternatives offered. After checking out, I overheard another guest ask for something similar and saw staff suggest moving them to a different room the next morning so they could stay later. Since it was a Wednesday outside a holiday period, and at least five rooms of my type still appeared available online for that date, the different responses left me feeling I hadn’t been dealt with honestly. More consistent treatment and clearer communication would have made this a much better stay.
