The breakfast was the worst I’ve had at any hotel: instant coffee, the cheapest bread, and no choice of jam. My room was cold and smelled bad, and when I turned on the water in the Jacuzzi I’d reserved, black water and algae came out of the tap. I stayed for two nights in January 2020 after a nine-hour trip, so I’d been looking forward to a hot bath. The parking lot was incredibly narrow too. It was a nightmare, and I can’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms were freezing after we came back from the slopes, just 18 degrees Celsius with barely warm radiators that couldn’t heat them any more. It was 15 degrees in the hallways and dining room. We were there for a family weekend in February 2020 with two small children. When my sister-in-law switched on an electric heater overnight, the owners cut the power. They were stingy with everything: no toiletries, and just one toilet roll per room for the whole stay. The food was awful too. We’d booked breakfast and dinner and paid extra for a so-called coffee and tea buffet, which was just cheap instant coffee, sugar, milk, cheap tea bags, and a few lemon slices at breakfast. At 5 p.m., when I asked for lemon with my tea, the owner said it was only served at breakfast. On departure day, my cousin asked to check out an hour later because her one-year-old had fallen asleep and she didn’t want to wake him. The owner said, “No way.” Everyone can decide for themselves whether this place is worth choosing. I hope these stingy, unfriendly people get no visitors and go bankrupt.

For a nightly rate of 160 PLN, I don’t think this place meets the standard of a three-star hotel, whether by its name, the Voivodeship Marshal’s list, or the actual rooms. It might pass as a hostel or motel where you only sleep, but that’s not what I expected at this price. The room was cold until we complained, and even then it only warmed a little. Tea from the coffee bar wasn’t allowed upstairs because glasses couldn’t be taken into rooms. There was also a musty smell, likely from the roof leak and wet walls, made worse by poor heating and closed ventilation vents. The set meals aren’t worth ordering: old bread, one toaster, low-quality sausages, little choice, and cheap products. The double bed was two singles pushed together, with no mattress connector, leaving 10 cm boards of the bed frame between them. The driveway was steep and curved, so you had to speed up and avoid the gate posts. I can’t understand why the snow wasn’t cleared properly or salt spread. The parking area was too small and hard to maneuver in.

The rooms were fairly clean, though a little musty. Since I was there in summer, I could leave the room and bathroom windows open. Walking to town takes a bit, depending on whether you like a walk, and I did. But the parking was cramped, with often no space when I returned around 1 or 2 a.m. I had to squeeze my car into a hedge, and once I left it on the street. I stayed six days and had the breakfast and dinner package. Breakfast was basic and poor: toast, mediocre ham, tomato, cucumber, and egg with mayonnaise. The toast seemed like it could last a month without going stale or hard. Dinner wasn’t much better apart from the soup, which guests could take from a whole pot. The main dishes were very simple for a hotel this size, such as spaghetti, pork chop, thick ham slices, fries, or supermarket dumplings. I’d rate the service, cleanliness, food, and customer care 2/10. For this price I could stay at the luxurious Koral Hotel in Wieliczka, with a generous breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus cheeses, hams, vegetables, olives, homemade pancakes, fruit, pastries, and espresso instead of that lazy coffee.

We had a really lovely three-day stay, and the food was homely and very good. A friendly woman looked after us, appearing when needed while still giving us privacy, so I felt well taken care of. The bed and bedding were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. I never heard a train from the nearby station. The property has a hunting lodge feel, including a Louis XVII-style room. We stayed as a couple in the Lux room, which was huge, spotless, and well maintained, with a very large bathroom and two big balconies joined together overlooking the forest. I’d love to return in summer. There was also a double Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. People who complained about low room temperatures could just turn on the radiators and warm up quickly. My only small gripe was the artificial flowers in the room, real ones would look more elegant. Otherwise, it was perfect, highly recommended if you like this kind of atmosphere. Thanks to the owners, keep it up!
