DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Wroclaw

That upgrade from Hilton made the room amazing and really added something special to our stay. The staff we met were all fantastic, and we enjoyed the executive lounge and the lovely breakfasts. We were in Wroclaw for two nights, and the hotel is a short walk from town. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

The location in the OVO building is great, and I’ll definitely return. After a day of work, the quiet, intimate Executive Lounge was a welcome bonus. A big thank you to the reception team for upgrading me to the One Bedroom Suite. It was impeccably clean, with a really practical layout that made space for both work and relaxing. Breakfast was excellent too, with a broad selection and great quality. This is my absolute favorite in Wrocław!

There are plenty of things I disliked, though the rooms themselves were spacious, nicely furnished, and well maintained. The windows do not open at all, even a little. If you want fresh air, you have to go all the way downstairs and outside. The building looks attractive from the outside, but the long oval layout and just two elevators side by side near reception mean some rooms are a very long walk away. After a 4-5 hour trip with luggage, and no help offered, that distance felt like several kilometers. I even saw a couple around 70-75 slowly carrying their own bags down the corridor. It made me question how this could be a five-star hotel. I enjoy walking 14-18 kilometers while exploring a city, but after a long flight or a day out, I do not want to spend my energy just getting to my room. Our trouble started after midnight, when we arrived and could not get in because the doors were locked. I travel often and had never encountered a hotel with locked doors and no visible reception staff. We looked through the windows without seeing anyone, and it was not even clear where the main entrance was. Once we finally got inside and got our keys, the distance to the room became another problem. It seems like investing in more elevators would have made more sense than heavy wooden furniture and armchairs. I wonder whether the building was originally meant to be a hotel, since such a basic issue as insufficient elevators seems to have been overlooked. I would never stay here again.

The bed was lethally comfortable, and we got a great night's sleep in the surprisingly large, airy room. The location was perfect for our super couple of days. Staff were friendly, especially the ever-smiling Iga, and the service was good. Breakfast had plenty of choice. The executive lounge was quite small, but well stocked, with soup as its hot food option. Would recommend.
