The location was really good, just a short walk from the main street and plenty to do nearby. But the rest of our five-night stay was deeply frustrating. We were travelling from England after stopping in other countries for one or two nights, and I’d been looking forward to unpacking. Instead, there were only two hangers per person and no drawers for socks or underwear. The wardrobe went right up to the ceiling, so the top two shelves were useless unless you’re eight feet tall or have a step ladder. There were no coat hooks either, so wet coats had to go over chairs. The room was cold when we arrived, and the large radiator was off. We called the host to ask how to turn it on. She said she could see it was 20 degrees and that we didn’t need the heating. It absolutely did not feel like 20 degrees, and, with all due respect, the temperature someone else thinks is acceptable doesn’t matter when they aren’t living in the room with us. On another day, after it had been -6 outside, we came back to another cold room. My partner didn’t want to call again after the first conversation, so he asked through the Booking.com app for the radiator to be turned on. She ignored the message. There were no hand towels. The bathroom sink is badly designed, with the tap right over its middle. To wash or shave your face, you have to lean to one side and splash water sideways, making a mess. The walls are thin, too. We could constantly hear the people next door watching TV and those above us dragging chairs across the floor. There was no fridge in the room, only a shared one in the kitchen. We weren’t comfortable putting food in a fridge accessible to complete strangers. We didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. The parking setup was bad as well. Luckily, some other guests weren’t driving, or we would have been blocked in. If the booking hadn’t been non-refundable, we would have left and found somewhere else. I’ve never stayed somewhere we couldn’t control the room temperature, and the host’s response when we first arrived really put a damper on the stay.

From the terrace, the view is amazing, and the building has a very modern look. Our room matched the photos exactly: beautiful, spotless, and equipped with a kettle and hairdryer. There’s also a fully equipped communal kitchen where you can cook. The staff were friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend it.

The property looks nice and modern, both in person and in the photos, and the service was friendly. But it left us with the clear impression that they were trying to save on heating. The apartment was at 19.5°C (65°F) when we arrived, with no controller or thermostat to adjust it. We wrapped ourselves in blankets the first night and got through it, but waking up chilly and having to leave warm blankets was unpleasant. Around 3:00 PM on the second day, we called staff and asked them to raise it to 73°F (23.5°C). When we came back from dinner, and again the next morning, nothing had changed. Every time we pushed the blanket aside, we shivered. P.S. If you’re a winter swimmer, you’ll be comfortable in the kitchen. It’s even colder there while making breakfast, so I’d wear a jacket.

The views of the mountains from the windows are beautiful, and it’s peaceful here despite being within walking distance of Zakopane’s center. Kama Lama has clean, well-kept rooms with cozy beds, fresh linens, and towels. The modern interiors have a tasteful highlander style, making the place both attractive and cozy. I highly recommend it.

The rooms are spacious, new, clean, and nicely done. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the city center. Breakfast is available, though I’d probably choose to go without it next time. When it’s busy, parking gets tight, and getting out onto the street is a bit awkward. I’d be a little concerned if it snowed. I recommend the place and would definitely return.
