It’s a charming family-run hotel in a lovely corner of Zamosc, near the old synagogue. I stayed one night in a single room with an en suite bathroom. They welcomed me by name at check-in and offered me a small breakfast for free on my departure day. I recommend it for the charm and the owners’ kindness.

The hotel is really close to the historic part of the city, and breakfast was good, though it could have had more variety. There’s a quiet backyard garden where you can relax or have afternoon tea. It’s a pity there’s no bar. My room was spacious but rather dull, in line with the price. If your windows face the street, the noise may be noticeable.

Parking was easy: they gave us a pass at check-in to display in the car. Breakfast tasted great, though there wasn’t much to choose from. The hotel is modern and in a great location, with everything you need. It all feels very new, although some things seem a bit cheaply made and could be improved. We’d definitely come back.

The biggest surprise was at checkout: the staff offered each guest group a tour of the underground Jewish bathhouse beneath the building, which has been uncovered and is being restored. It’s one of the best-preserved Mikveh in Poland, and some of the original tiles are still there. Above the well is now a party lounge with great acoustics. The tour was a unique and completely unexpected bonus. Hotel 77 is a boutique hotel right in the old town of Zamość, a town with a fascinating history. Our room was larger than I expected, with a bedroom, small bathroom, and a separate nook with a small table and two chairs for working or eating. You can reserve parking right outside for an extra PLN 25 a night, as of July 2023. The elevator is pretty slow, and the key cards aren’t completely reliable, but neither was a big issue. I don’t usually review hotels here, but this one is special. The hotel and Zamość both deserve better advertising. It’s one of the loveliest places in Poland and should be on everyone’s must-see list.
