Royal Isabela

The e-bike outing with Jan was so much fun, way beyond what we expected, and he was a great guide. The other staff were incredibly kind and tried their best, but our experience with management was rough enough that we left early and spent the rest of the trip elsewhere. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, good for disconnecting. But Sunday massages weren't available, and since it was raining and there isn't much to do on the property in the rain, we found a local company willing to come. The manager on duty, Lizbeth, wouldn't let outside therapists in, despite there being no spa on site and no availability through the property. We explained how much it mattered to us, but she made things difficult instead of helping. It left us feeling that management didn't care much about guests. Google lists an on-site spa, but there isn't one. The food is good, though service is slow, so don't show up starving. Unless you're only here for golf and don't care much about the guest experience, I'd skip it. Leadership could use a reminder about hospitality.

Jorge's experiences around the property were the best part of our stay. We took an easy-to-ride e-bike trip on a 4-mile trail up and down the mountains, had lunch facing Río Guajataca, then kayaked along the river with incredible views. The hotel itself is a dream and the service is superb. We were celebrating our 9th anniversary, and it turned into our most magical day in a while. Every couple should do it at least once. ✨

The beach felt very private, and a stroll along it brought us to a spot for a refreshing swim. Our Casita was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, including a plunge pool that was just right for a quick dip or a drink by the edge. The resort pool was well kept and good for a few laps. My husband and I stayed four nights at the Royal Isabela in Nov. '25. We enjoyed delicious meals, friendly service, and quiet, secluded relaxation. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and the staff were exceptional. Jose made sure everything was up to par, and Jeannette was gracious and accommodating at the beautiful Jota restaurant. We look forward to staying at the magnificent Royal Isabela again.

Pedro knew the menu inside out and made great suggestions when I came for dinner. The service was impeccable, and everyone was spectacular from the moment I entered the gates. This boutique hotel is a gem, with absolutely gorgeous grounds. I'd happily return with friends and family, and I'm even trying to convince my niece to get married here. Looking forward to another visit!
