The bed was comfortable, the sheets were bright white and very clean, and the AC was acceptable. Beyond those few positives, there were a lot of problems. We paid $320 for two rooms for one night, and it wasn’t worth it. I’d give the place zero stars if I could, and we’ll never stay there again. The rooms and building felt old and outdated, the walls needed paint, and the bathroom door needed replacing. There was no mirror, hairdryer, iron, or ironing board in the room. The TV was very small and had only Spanish channels. The door didn’t reach the floor, so you could see outside and critters could get in. The showerhead handle was moldy. Outside, a neighbor’s clothes and chairs were left on the porch in the rain, dripping wet. There was loud music on the street and noisy people at night. Light from the fixture outside the glass room door stayed on all night and lit up the room, so the only way to sleep was to cover your face with the covers. There was just one washcloth for two people. I called for another, but no one picked up, and my text to the number got no response. We were told to leave the key in a white box at the old office, but no one explained where the office or box was. I had to find the housekeeper to hand over the key, and they admitted there was no white box.

Our room had a fridge/freezer, microwave, and coffee maker, and it was very clean. The cleaning lady was friendly and helpful. We arrived at 10:00, and she cleaned our room right away and helped carry our bags upstairs. The gardener even offered to take my husband to a good surf spot. Everyone was so nice. There’s a Mexican restaurant right nearby that was really good, especially the elote, the best Mexican corn I’d had. There was a friendly cat around too 😀

We’ve stayed here twice, and I love the location and restaurant. The pool is cozy, and I’d come back. This time we chose the cheapest room because of budget limits. It was clean, but I don’t think the lowest-priced room should have to feel like it. A couple of nightstands, a decent TV, microwave, and coffee maker might cost around $1,000, which seems doable. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. I noticed some remodeling underway, so I hope the room’s better next time. See you soon.

The location makes this okay for a short stop while passing through. The rooms are outdated and very noisy, and glass doors as the main room doors don’t block sound. The pool was dirty, with no loungers nearby, and there were no cups or glasses in the room. The WiFi seemed to disconnect every hour and then reconnect, as if someone were doing it.

I stayed in the dorms for a month and almost nobody else was there, so I pretty much had the place to myself. The hotel is cheap, the beds are clean and comfortable, and I really enjoyed the balcony. The cleaning lady was very kind, and I liked talking with her. There’s a restaurant next door called Lucky 13 with great lunch. Their pulled pork sandwich is delicious.
