Abitta Condado by IHG

The restaurant's salmon was good, the front desk staff were friendly, and the location near the main road put us close to lots of restaurants. I stayed for two nights in February 2026, in a tower room separate from the main lobby. My expectations were low based on the reviews, but I booked late and had very few options in Condado. The tower was being renovated, but the hotel said it was full, so I couldn't move rooms. Mine had no closet or hangers, just hooks placed randomly around the room. There was no curtain or covering on the shower window, so someone in the next building could look down at a person showering. After I complained, they hung two towels over it. The shower knob was very loose and looked ready to break off. The finishings and carpentry were rough, and the rug was dirty with a large wet spot. Security could be better. There's no extra chain lock on the inside of the door. Anyone from the street can enter the second tower without going past the front desk or staff, then access the elevator and rooms without a key. I didn't use the pool, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The ocean-facing room was a real plus, and we enjoyed the pool area and the decent gym. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. Getting to the beach took only a few minutes, and there were restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel also had its own beach area with loungers and umbrellas. Our room was serviceable, though it showed wear despite having been renovated. The shower leaked badly enough that we had to spread towels across the floor. The dehumidifier on the sixth floor wasn’t working, so the room and hallway felt humid. We booked with IHG points, but that didn’t come with vouchers for the attached restaurant. Paying guests got them, which was disappointing and might put us off booking again.

I had a really nice stay at the Abítta Condado. The hotel’s meal vouchers were $25, and usually covered breakfast unless I added a side. The food was tasty, though service moved slowly, so bring a book and be patient. The beach club was a pleasant 5-10 minute walk away. It’s just umbrellas and loungers. Nearby, The Tryst lets you take drinks and food out to your spot on the sand if you want. My shower sometimes spilled into the bathroom, but an extra towel handled it. I didn’t mention it to the front desk since it wasn’t a big deal to me.

The staff are what would bring us back. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to help, whether it was printing something for us or sharing food and drink suggestions and directions each day. We stayed three nights. The rooms were clean, though nothing special, and the price was reasonable. The hotel is also close to the beach, bars, and restaurants.
