Great Escape Bed & Breakfast Inn

The place was great, but Sean’s hospitality stood out even more. He really looked after us and went above and beyond, even driving us to our destination this morning when we were in a rush. We had an incredible stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

A new moon night is a good time to walk to the back of Club Vieques and look up at the stars. The owners, management, and staff were all friendly and down to earth, and their personalities came through in the experience. I loved the stay and would go again. A few things to know about Vieques: if you’re not in town, rent a vehicle, since the best beaches are remote and reached by dirt roads with deep puddles. Taxis were a huge challenge in my experience, rarely available unless you plan well ahead, and even then there can be long stretches with no cabs. Things close early, so plan for earlier dinners. Island time applies, and Google’s hours may be wrong, so check with locals and go with the flow. At Club Vieques, the bar is open 3-9 during the week, with no food or booze outside those hours. Breakfast can be preordered, but choices are very limited for restricted diets. Coffee was available in the morning. Weekends seemed to have longer hours and possibly more options, though I was there on weekdays.

It felt like being with family, and this has been the best part of our trip so far. Sean, Paul, and the employees were so helpful, sharing local gems, places to eat, things to do, and hangouts. I highly recommend staying here. We’ll definitely be back!

Lucy, their beautiful, loving dog, was the perfect finishing touch to this charming resort. We can’t wait to return. Sean and Paul made us feel welcome right away, like we’d been friends for years, and we had delightful conversations with them. The place is stunning, with endless views, beautifully updated rooms and amenities, and care in every detail. You can feel how much they care about the experience. Lynsey and Tim made some of the best cocktails we’ve had on our recent travels, and I’ll be craving Tim’s freshly shaved sesame carrots until we’re back. They’re expanding the kitchen and menu, and I’m looking forward to what they make next. Club Vieques is a true gem on an already breathtaking island. Five stars plus, if I could.
