We filed an official complaint with the Ponta Delgada Police after being scammed over this house. We also heard that at least two other parties were affected. The owner didn't help us find somewhere else and showed no positive reaction. We received an email from a dr.com domain, which looked clearly fraudulent and like a phishing address. Be careful, and involve the police if you get an email from the wrong domain. We can't recommend this place. A disaster, with a serious risk of a rental scam.

Casa do Tanque made a relaxing base for exploring the island. It's just east of Lagoa, close to the main road that loops around the island, so we felt well placed to go everywhere. The small farm setting is lovely, with an ocean view. Inside, the house is bright, airy, and spacious, and the pool table was a fun extra.

The house is huge, nicely decorated, and comfortable, with great facilities. It felt quiet and secluded enough, and there were lovely views and little corners to explore. We were welcomed warmly even though we arrived late. They'd left a basket of local things for breakfast, including bread, cheese, wine, fruit, milk, and more. Fantastic. I recommend it!
