Villa Paraiso Da Caparica

My daughter and I had a lovely short stay here. The room was small but very clean, and had a microwave, kettle, and fridge for anything that needed chilling. The owners were really nice and helpful, and their coffee is top class. Breakfast was very tasty, too. The pool was small, but enough for a whole day of fun in the water. We’d definitely come back after such a lovely stay. Thank you so much! 😊

We really enjoyed our stay during the Suncèbeat festival. The outdoor area, with its pool, hot tub, and seating, was lovely, and the room was comfortable. There are fans over the beds, though it takes a little figuring out to work them. The hosts were nice. A great restaurant is five minutes away, and the beach is a five-minute Uber ride. Caparica is worth a wander, with plenty of good places to eat, a nice big park, and a long promenade alongside the great surf beach.

We loved the relaxed, laid-back vibe and would definitely recommend staying here. We were in town for the Suncebeat 2024 music festival at imao, and the room was lovely, well equipped with a fridge, kettle, and basics, and had a large balcony. Everything was done to a high standard. The continental breakfast was great, with everything you could need and more. Yasmin was very helpful with our questions, and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. Make sure to leave her a tip, lol. The pool was lovely for dipping and chilling, though not for swimming, and the hot tub was a bonus. The square, shops, and supermarket were an Uber or Bolt ride away, but only €3 each way, so that wouldn’t put me off. We’ll book again next year once the Suncebeat dates are out. My only complaint was the €150 deposit due on arrival, which would be refunded up to 30 days after checkout. They said the timing was outside their control and depended on the bank. I thought that was a bit much, especially since they don’t do stag or hen weekends. The guests were all couples aged 45 to 62.

Even the breakfast was disappointing, and the way the management responded made the stay worse. Blaming the sewer company for the bathroom stench is ridiculous. A ventilator could pull the smell out. And claiming the breakfast used fresh local ingredients is a lie when it was frozen pie plus cheese and ham from the local Lidl. That doesn't make it fresh local produce. The room was already dirty when we arrived, with hair on the bathroom floor and a shower curtain that looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. The sewer smell was awful, and there was no bathroom ventilation. One evening I nearly threw up when we walked in. We couldn't keep the window open because of the traffic noise outside. I wouldn't stay there again even if it were free. I'm not picky, but the replies also made me wonder about all those five-star reviews. Maybe they were real guests, maybe friends were being asked to leave good reviews so the score wouldn't fall and the place wouldn't be delisted. Either way, good riddance.
