Quinta das Ameixas - Country & Nature

A quiet place surrounded by nature, with parking and wifi.

The house was spotless, beautiful, and super comfortable, with everything we needed. We had some wonderful family days here and I’d recommend it 100%. The quiet area is great for taking a few days to relax, and the people who welcomed us were so friendly and available for anything we might need.

Paula and Fernando welcomed me with great kindness, and I left feeling warmly received and at ease. I stayed at Quinta das Ameixas while exploring Arouca, choosing the Loft because I was traveling alone. It’s a generously sized studio that would suit a couple, with or without children. The decor is tasteful, with a nod to the past, and it’s comfortable enough that you want to spend time there. The farm animals are a lovely extra: a mare, a pony, chickens, and a magnificent herding dog. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and has the peaceful feel of the village. There’s a pleasant pool set among nature, a real bonus for cooling off in summer and keeping both children and adults entertained. My stay was short because of unavoidable commitments, and there was still a lot left to discover. I’ll certainly return to Quinta das Ameixas, perhaps to try another option. Casinha à Porta looked quite appealing.

The hosts gave us the warmest welcome. The bedrooms are large, and the whole house is much bigger than it looks in the photos. It has everything you need for a lovely weekend, and the Passadiços do Paiva are 30 minutes away. We had a great weekend and will definitely come back.
