It turned out better than I’d expected.

The check-in was handled by the person in charge of the lodging, and that was one of the few good parts of the stay. After paying, I got the keys, a TV remote and an air-conditioning remote. I didn’t even switch on the AC, given the state of the place and my concerns about cleanliness. For context, this was a one-night stay for two people, arriving on the 12th and leaving on 13/01/2025 for a personal and work-related reason. After reading most of the reviews already posted, I wondered if I’d stayed at the same property. I concluded that I had, in the same location. The room was very damp and hadn’t been cleaned properly. The bathroom was unhygienic, very small, and using the toilet was almost impossible. I was cold, but didn’t ask for my money back or look elsewhere because it was already getting into the evening and it was Sunday. There’s a notice displayed at reception that gives guests what I believe is false information: it’s a nice-looking Booking rating plaque, even though the accommodation doesn’t appear on that platform, only a link does. I wonder what happened for it to be removed. To charge my phone and computer, I had to move the bedside table and unplug the lamp so I could use the one socket, one device at a time. I’ve run out of words for how negative my opinion of the place is. I’m leaving 24 photos so you can make up your own minds, and you can respond if you want to.

We own toctoctocLisboa Hotel in Portugal and enjoy discovering beautiful places. We booked knowing Hospedaria was magnificent, and the visit confirmed it. The welcome was especially warm and refined. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the areas outside them give you the choice of privacy or meeting other guests. There’s an honesty bar and a fireplace indoors, useful since Portugal doesn’t always have sunny weather, plus several outdoor spaces to relax in, including a pool, terrace and garden. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the room was unusually spacious. It’s a welcoming place without much luxury. Personally, I really dislike that the bedroom windows have no shutters, though sadly that’s not the only place like that.
