Clube De Campo Vila Gale

We felt welcome throughout, especially with all the things they did for our anniversary, and I was relaxed the whole time. The setting is beautiful, with vineyards and olive trees close enough to smell, and the views are breathtaking. There are activities for children and adults, so there's plenty to do. The rooms are spacious, though a little old, and I found the food good but rather unremarkable, particularly the à la carte menu. It would help to have a do not disturb sign outside the door for guests who want to sleep in. Portuguese is the main language spoken around the hotel.

The grounds were tidy, and the staff made us feel like family. The nearby winery has top grade products and olive oil, and there's also a kids resort close by to check out. Most of the staff speak English. A real gem, and a benchmark for resorts in my book.

We came as a couple with two small children and had an amazing stay. Breakfast and dinner were included, with a wide choice of delicious traditional food that didn't repeat during our week there. The kids club had activities throughout the day, and "tio Bolinha" was friendly and helpful. There are several countryside activities, family-friendly pools including a heated indoor one with a jacuzzi, and it’s a beautiful place to unwind. We loved the sunsets and the clear night sky full of stars, away from the city noise.

The only thing that felt a bit off was the large-scale, almost industrial setup of Vila Galé. The quality is high, though, and the staff really try hard. There are lots of facilities, a big garden, a large pool and veranda, and the hotel is nicely placed with good views of the surroundings. The rooms are nice, and the buffet dinner and breakfast were all excellent. Nothing bad to say.
