A Casa de Salsas

The house has potential, and the setting is peaceful, but our experience didn't come close to justifying the price. We spent a weekend with a group of friends, filling all six rooms for 12 people. Heating came from a wood-burning fireplace, so someone had to stay awake overnight to keep it going. The kitchen was well equipped, but its fireplace didn't draw the smoke out, and everyone ended up smelling of smoke. WiFi was available, though the data was very limited and it kept cutting out, even when trying to open email. Videos and streaming were impossible. Based on this stay, I can't recommend it.

It's a beautiful spot for a quiet, peaceful holiday, and I enjoyed my stay. I thought the place might be just restarting operations, but I was welcomed warmly, like I was visiting family. Communications are a real problem across the area. I can only speak for NOS and VODAFONE, whose signal was shamefully poor, and the house router was weak too. I don't blame the management for that. Even my own connection dropped, and I'm used to having 5G and a link to the world in Porto.

D. Amélia made us feel like we were at home and part of the family. She's a five-star host, and we left wanting to return. The place is lovely and peaceful, just right for resting, and breakfast was top notch. My heartfelt thanks to her, and I wish her good health. I highly recommend it.

A peaceful village and a beautiful, fully modernized house made for a relaxing stay. The hosts were incredibly friendly, and breakfast had that lovely Trás-os-Montes style. Hard to ask for more. I'd come back!
