The house is welcoming, and it was very clean. D. Inês was also very good with the service. It’s just a shame that a 75-year-old woman is left to handle everything on her own. They advertise personal hygiene products, but there was only soap. Another drawback was that the room wasn’t cleaned or tidied during my stay, which lasted more than one night.

Casa do alpendre is tucked away at the foot of the Serra de Montesinho, among striking scenery and quiet valleys. There are walking trails that go from the valleys up to the top of Montesinho, and the Montesinho dam is a place where silence takes over.
