Prazer da Natureza Resort & SPA

For my birthday, we were given a one-night stay, and it turned into a miserable night of cold showers and unfriendly service. There was no warm water in our cabin. We spent until midnight trying to sort it out, without success. When I asked for compensation because I didn't think a full price was fair for a room with cold water, the staff accused me and questioned whether the complaint was true instead of apologizing. They said I should have let people into the room at midnight to check, after they had already been pushing things into the back of our 'room', like a container, an hour earlier. Who wants an odyssey with unfriendly staff and cold showers instead of a good night's sleep? The place is an overpriced campsite dressed up as a luxury spa resort, and it fell short on service and quality at every turn. I've never paid so much for cold showers, cheap linen, bad food, and dirty rooms. We slept in shabby cabins with cheap materials and bedding; the pool felt like a kids' playground, and the showers were clogged with hair and mold. The jacuzzi cost extra. The restaurant food tried to be fancy but was a complete disaster, and breakfast was just sad.

Staff brought me ice right after I fell, but I haven't heard from the hotel since and no one has apologised. I was there for a weekend and tripped on a small step outside the apartment that was hard to see, with no sign or clear marking to show the change in level. I ruptured an ankle ligament and have been in severe pain. They drove me to the hospital, where I was told to take pain medication, use ice, and walk with crutches.

We had such a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting. The villa was comfortable and had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed the surroundings and facilities. We made use of the spa, pool, gym and tennis court, and absolutely loved having an EV charger on site. Thanks for everything.

The staff are friendly, the breakfast is very good, and the indoor pool is warm. It's also very deep for children, though, so a pool better suited to kids would be welcome. The place feels cozy, but the facilities could use some improvement. Humidity is an issue because the bathroom has no ventilation.
