Reception said they were sorry we’d had such a horrible experience, then carried on ignoring us. There are damp problems, woodlice and ants, awful drain smells, and repairs seem to have been patched together instead of properly renovated. The shower curtain was broken, and mold had been painted over. This used to be such a nice place, but we won’t be back. The staff also put a party of lads next door to a family with children. It’s past 2am and they’ve turned the music on. We have a flight home in the morning and can’t sleep. The staff were inconsiderate in placing them there and seem not to care.

This was just what we wanted for some downtime, and the welcome was warm. Service was great, nothing felt like too much trouble, and housekeeping was professional. We had no car and no plans beyond the small local town and beach, so it suited us perfectly. Thank you for a lovely, restful break. There’s a village pool for anyone who doesn’t want to go far; in September it wasn’t busy. A free shuttle minibus runs several times daily to the beach or town centre, and there’s a taxi service to the local supermarket. Intermarche has an ATM. The restaurant at the village serves a great portugese menu, and the chef caters to other tastes too. Guests included families and couples from different countries, all very respectful.

If you just need somewhere to sleep while you head out exploring, this does the job. It’s cheap and cheerful, with a great bar and restaraunt on site. The rooms and apartments are dated, with some lovely 1980s fabrics on the soft furnishings, and there’s a fair bit of damp and mould. But if all you need is a bed and basic facilities, it’s a good base.

A good option for a quiet holiday at a very reasonable price. The rooms work well for families or couples, and the staff are welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. The food is decent, not the best, but better than at other hotels.
