I was really pleased with my stay. It’s calm and spotless, with everything feeling up to date. Easily the best stop I’ve found on the Portuguese Inland Way, and beyond it.

The noise was the dealbreaker for me. There’s a nightclub close by, and its music comes through even with the window shut, so sleeping was impossible. There’s no air conditioning, and the fan doesn’t cool the room either. I booked two nights, but wouldn’t return. In one of the two bathrooms, the shower door won’t close and the bathroom door won’t lock. What a shame.

It was very clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly. The pillows were hard, though, and it would be good to have another option. The windows barely block the street noise, which is especially noticeable in an area with bars.
