Ana was a delight to deal with, and checking in was easy. The property is gorgeous, up in the higher part of Coimbra but still an easy walk from the main sights. My room was beautifully presented, especially the bathroom.

Breakfast in the lovely garden was a treat, and guests can use the kitchen for drinks and snacks. It’s a beautifully restored 1800s guesthouse, with original touches like floor-to-ceiling shuttered windows and decorative ceilings. The rooms are finished to a high standard, with modern bathrooms, air conditioning, and lighting. Five-star accommodation.

We spent a week in room 2 and were really happy with our stay. It was clean, good value, and in a fantastic location. The room had high ceilings, a good air conditioner, and wifi. The bed was firm, but that worked for us. I’d definitely recommend it.

Ana helped us get our bearings in Coimbra, and all the restaurants she suggested were fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, a great base for exploring the city, and a lovely first stop in Portugal. We only wish we’d had more time there. Getting uphill from the train station with luggage was quite a trek, so I’d take a taxi next time. Without bags, walking to the main plazas and university was much easier.
