The location was convenient, but the stay was disappointing. Staff put some of my clothes in an industrial dryer on maximum heat even though I'd asked them not to. Several shirts shrank beyond repair. The host later offered to refund one night's stay, which didn't cover the damage. There were other problems around the property as well. The curtains fell when we tried to close them, and the lights flickered on and off. The kitchen had only very basic equipment, without essentials like a toaster or enough cutlery. Towels and bed linen were in terrible condition, with stains or dark spots on almost everything, as other reviews also mention. The place looks better than it is, so don't expect much.

Right in the center, with a very warm room. The building has been restored, and the staff were very pleasant.

Good location and nice, fast Wi-Fi. The air conditioning worked well. The toilet block sits higher than the floor, which is a bit odd. If you have larger feet, you can't put them fully on it and end up with half your foot hanging off. The area is walkable if you're okay with going up and down hills.

What made our trip to Covihla so memorable was how warmly John and Maribelle welcomed us. They made us feel like visiting family, and went above and beyond. The apartment was unique, lovely, and cozy. Breakfast was a generous spread from local shops, with Maribelle's delicious homemade jams as the highlight. John gave us lots of restaurant ideas, called one to reserve a table, and suggested several good hikes. Maribelle even sent us home with some jam. Thank you both for such a beautiful visit!

The top-floor apartment has stunning views and is in a modernized building near the town center. There are two downsides: no lift, and the stairs twist around. Parking in the multi-storey near the building is fairly expensive.
