Ericeira Chill Hill Hostel and Private Rooms

The hostel is in Ericeira, a charming, cozy town that wins people over, and we can't wait to return. We spent two wonderful weeks here with surfing lessons and loved the whole experience. The price matched the quality well. Breakfast was a simple but satisfying buffet with things like yogurt, milk, muesli, ham, and cheese. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. For tips on good places to eat, ask Pedro or Ines, they know all the hidden gems.

We had a private room and shared bathroom, and everything was clean, with comfortable beds. The owners and Cindy were great hosts. The hostel had a classic feel, a great vibe, and amazing people. I met lots of other travellers, and we had a great time surfing and going out together. I'd definitely like to come back.

We had a great stay at Chill Hill in the six-bed dorm at the end of May. The staff were friendly, sociable, and always around. The rooms were clean and got cleaned twice a week. Ours had a little balcony and bathroom, a large wardrobe, and hooks and plugs everywhere. Breakfast included fruit, bread, yogurt, oats, and juices, and the kitchen was well equipped. It's a 10-minute walk to the center and beach. If you're after a fancy, modern party spot full of super-cool surfers, this may not be for you. It's more of a relaxed place to unwind and meet all sorts of people. Thanks, staff, you were the best!

We got there at 4 p.m. and the room hadn't even been cleaned. The beds were poor quality, with bedbugs, and the kitchen was piled with dirty dishes. There was a guy sleeping in the kitchen who was very unfriendly. After 10 p.m. we couldn't even talk at a normal volume because it bothered him. Expecting the whole house to be quiet makes no sense for a surf house where different people meet. The bathroom wasn't cleaned at all during our stay, and I also had to pay €4 to rent a towel. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
