Quinta da Aldeia de Avanca

The one thing I missed in summer was air conditioning. Still, Quinta is a great guesthouse, with a peaceful, quiet atmosphere and a clean, welcoming feel. There’s a large green area with a pool, and the rooms have heating. Service was impeccable, always friendly and attentive, and breakfast was very good.

There are horses on the farm, which means quite a lot of flies. Apart from that, it’s a very pleasant place and works well for families. We had a peaceful holiday surrounded by nature, enjoying the Portuguese slow living concept. The owner welcomed us warmly and was there waiting for us. Our cottage was spacious and well cared for, with four of us staying in it. The garden and pool were well maintained too.

The family who run this place are the kind of people who make you glad you met them. We’ve spent two weeks traveling around Portugal, and nowhere else has come close. It’s a lovely setting for a relaxing family stay, with warm, family-like service. There are incredible restaurants nearby with super-affordable prices.

The grounds are so peaceful and impeccably kept, and the pool is fantastic. The apartments are spotless and beautiful. Helder, the host, is delightful, and they bring a wonderful breakfast to your apartment every day.
