They let me check in very late, and although it was self check-in, the instructions for getting inside were clear. The staff were nice too. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, and they left a light breakfast so I didn’t have to rush out or make something first thing. There’s also a kitchen if you want to cook. I had a good stay overall.

The other guests during my stay were really inconsiderate, which isn't the hostel's fault. The hostel itself was cute, well organized, and in a good location. It has the feel of an old Portuguese house, which I loved. My breakfast was in a bag with my name on it at the door, and the sheets and blankets were clean and smelled fresh. There were lockers and portable heaters in the room, and the kitchen had what I needed. They sent me the door code before I arrived, so everything was sorted out. I definitely recommend it.

The website and staff say there are double rooms with double beds and air conditioning, but that wasn’t true. My room was noisy, hot, and in terrible repair. Évora reached 37°C yesterday and 33°C today, July 31, so I couldn’t sleep. The kitchen, walls, appliances, toaster, cups, and plates were dirty, so I went to a café for breakfast instead. The breakfast they provided was a paper bag with two slices of bread, a small apple, a small plain muffin, milk, apple juice, instant coffee sachets, jam, and butter. There’s only one bathroom for seven of us, and the shower drain doesn’t work properly. The shared areas aren't kept clean. I can't recommend this place.

A nice little hostel with comfortable beds, a kitchen, and a roof terrace you can use. Breakfast comes as a DIY pack, so you can eat whenever you like. The one catch is that reception is only staffed at certain hours, and they don't make that clear. I nearly missed my bus because I couldn't get in to collect my luggage. After a quick call, someone came in a bit before their shift to let me in.
