Villas Do Mar

Everything felt clean and new, and we even found complimentary wine waiting for us. The standards were top-notch, with the best views. For me, this is the best place to stay on Flores Island.

I’d happily recommend this villa. It was clean, peaceful, and had everything we needed, and the hosts were friendly. We did run into one problem, but the host dealt with it quickly and made sure we were happy with the outcome. That kind of response says a lot about the place.

There was plenty of coffee, plus a complimentary bottle of wine. We thought we were booking an ordinary apartment, but “villa” really did mean a whole beautiful house. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The check-in staff were lovely, and when ants became a problem, they sorted it out immediately. Easily the best place we stayed during our entire Azores trip.

The sunsets from the balcony were magnificent, and the shutters made it easy to get the room properly dark for sleeping. We stayed at Villa's Do Mar from July 14 to 19, 2022, in a very spacious, well-kept duplex apartment. Its kitchen was large and very well equipped, and the apartment seemed well insulated against both temperature changes and sound. We could hear the noisy Americans two apartments away calling from their terrace all the way to the Barraca Q'abana, but thankfully none of it carried into our apartment. There was air conditioning, though we didn’t need it thanks to the insulation. Everything in Fajã Grande is within walking distance. Villa's Do Mar is a must for anyone staying on Flores.
