The hosts were really kind and even gave us a fan and moved us to another room, but sleeping was still almost impossible. It gets unbearably hot inside without air conditioning. Opening the windows brings in mosquitoes, and the dogs barking outside make the noise even worse. I’d avoid staying here in summer if you can.

I’m glad to be checking out and continuing my Jubilee year pilgrimage of Hope, walking toward the embrace of Mary. I’m grateful for the “brother and sister” who prayed the Hail Mary in the kitchen in Polish, Ukrainian, French as a song, English, Spanish, and Latin. May we be protected under Mary’s Mantle and find the conversion and courage to humble ourselves in prayer. I pray for all of God’s children, and ask you to pray for me. Amen. As for the stay, this was the cheapest place within walking distance of this legendary Catholic home, which welcomes pilgrims from around the world. My room was clean and updated, and from the balcony I could see the Sanctuary of Our Lady Of Fatima. But it was right beside a busy highway, and none of the rooms are soundproof. The Wi-Fi was slow, and pilgrims kept coming and going through the kitchen until 1 AM. Since I get up at 5 AM every day, I got very little sleep on a night when I really needed it.
