It’s an old hotel, though we noticed some recent updates, including new air conditioning in the room. The location is very central and the staff are extremely friendly. Some of the long-time employees are still there, which gives the place a familiar, welcoming feel. Our room was cozy and comfortable. Breakfast could be better. Real orange juice, fresh, good-quality bread, and a vegetable milk option would make a big difference.

There are even sections of the old city wall inside the hotel. It may be a little dated, but it was spotlessly clean, and the staff were friendly. The location is perfect for Guarda. You can’t park right outside except to drop off or pick up, but we found a spot less than 100m away in the early afternoon without any trouble. Breakfast was simple, good, and plentiful. Highly recommended.

A traditional-style hotel in a great location, with spacious, clean rooms and very friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast is simple but good. The stay was comfortable and pleasant, though you shouldn’t expect modern or luxurious facilities. Just keep in mind that there’s no private parking, so you’ll need to park nearby.

The location made it easy to explore the old city, with lovely views and walks nearby. We were welcomed so warmly, and the staff were sweet and patient with the kids. Breakfast was simple but generous, and we loved the clean, authentic design and interiors. A wonderful stay if you’re after something simple and genuine. Thank you.

We had such a lovely time at Santos hotel, largely thanks to the people who own and run it, Mr and Mrs Albert. They’re such kindhearted people. I hope they stay healthy, and that even 30 years from now our children can return and meet them too. ❤️
