Villa Sal

We spent 10 days at Villa Sal and enjoyed it immensely. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the rest of the island. It’s thoughtfully decorated and has high-quality amenities for a longer stay, with lots of useful touches, including extra towels, beach towels, snorkelers, adapters, sanitary measures, masks, and more. The hosts respond quickly and are happy to help with recommendations. I highly recommend it for a comfortable, elevated holiday.

We stayed for a week and loved the house, as well as everything Sao Miguel had to offer. Check-in and checkout were very easy, and the hosts were attentive. Villa Sal has been refurbished with real style, and everything from the bedding and shower to the room is high quality. It’s also furnished thoughtfully, so the stay feels welcoming and easy, with plenty of towels and robes and a well-equipped kitchen. This is the sort of quirky, unique place I love in a private holiday home, with personality you don’t usually find in a hotel. If you want stunning sea views and your home comforts alongside a bit of character, don’t hesitate to book.

Just a two-minute walk from Villa Sal are natural swimming pools, a local hidden gem and one of the highlights of our days in Azores. Being able to head over in only our swimsuits, snorkel, and towels was great. There’s also a highly recommended seafood restaurant around the corner. We felt like we’d found a magical side of Azores that only locals know. The sea views from every room are wonderful, and the two top-floor balconies have glass doors that open all the way, letting you see, feel, and smell the sea. The villa is right by the water in Lagoa, a charming seaside town with pastel-colored houses. Its design is beautiful and full of thoughtful details, with a lovely mix of luxury and charm. We stayed in the two-bedroom villa, which had a fully equipped kitchen we used for breakfast and some dinners, a large bathroom with two sinks and a shower, plus extras like snorkels and beach towels. Staying at Villa Sal was an incredible, authentic experience and one of our best stays in Azores. We’d love to come back with friends.

The owners made it such a delightful stay, they're amazing people. Villa Sal was beautifully decorated and had a gorgeous ocean view. I spent more than a month there and felt lucky to call it home. It was quiet but still close to “everything,” and one of the best places I've ever stayed. I'd recommend it to anyone.
