Best Guest Residence

I had space and privacy in my bed area, and the dorm setup was done well. The biggest problem was staffing. I messaged to ask if we could leave our bags before check-in and got no reply. There was never anyone at the desk or elsewhere in the hostel. Things were fairly clean on the first day, but by the third day it was extremely dirty, the trash bins were overflowing, and there was nowhere to put more rubbish. We were also nearly out of toilet paper, so it seemed no staff had come by. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels, and most have someone on site to keep things clean each day. When I contacted staff about noise from another resident, they basically said it was our responsibility to handle it.

The dorm setup is really well thought out, with plenty of room to get comfortable in your own space. I liked staying here. The beach is about a 15-minute walk away, and there’s a large supermarket close by.

The private room was spacious and nice, and the bathroom was good too. The location works well, about a 20-minute walk to the beach. It was super noisy, though, and you have to ask for fresh towels or they won’t be changed.

The street noise made it hard to sleep with the window open, while the air conditioning was so loud that sleeping with it on was just as difficult. It was also too weak for the room. The place is presented like a hotel, but felt more like a hostel charging hotel prices. Staff were very unfriendly. There was no coffee machine in the room, despite the listing saying otherwise. A shared capsule machine was available, but no coffee was supplied, which I’d expect even at a hostel. We decided to shorten our stay. This wasn’t somewhere I’d choose for a holiday.
