7Rios Rooms

We only spent one night here, before my girlfriend had to go to the airport, but I'd come back without hesitation. The location is gold: a little supermarket around the corner, sushi next door, a bus stop right outside, and Sete Rios train station about a five-minute walk away. We could hear planes late into the night, but the noise was fine for us. We chose a place close to the airport, so that was expected. At first we were confused because, though we hadn't read all the information, we hadn't realised our room was in a regular house rather than a hotel. Once we figured it out, Helena welcomed us warmly, showed us around, explained what we needed to know, and asked if we needed anything else. It was raining and we were soaked, so we left our clothes with her to dry and got them back two hours later. Check-in and checkout were easy. We had the "green room," which was neat and clean. It came with water, tea, a kettle, air-conditioning, a bathroom with a shower and shampoo, a separate toilet, a table, two chairs, and more. Thanks for hosting us!

It was fine for a night's sleep, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer. There were some bits of dirt, like a broken zip tie on the floor as I entered the room, which the person showing me around picked up, and a dusty air vent in the bathroom. The person whose number Booking provided for questions about the reservation and arrival didn't speak English. That was the first time I'd run into that in around a month spent in Portugal over the past 12 months. At about €70, it felt too expensive; I'd say it's worth €30 at most. Lisbon prices are crazy this year, though.

I've stayed here three times and would happily come back. Nuno and Sabrina are very helpful, and the rooms are basic but comfortable. The location works well for exploring Lisboa, near the bus station, with the metro a short walk away. The wonderful Gulbenkian and El Corte Ingles are also within walking distance. Very reasonably priced.

It's a nice place to spend time in, with tasteful decor and a nice district. The double beds are small and on the firm side. Hot water comes and goes.
