The first problem was that at midnight we were given the wrong apartment because Rent Experience had mixed up our booking. It was smaller and had bunk beds instead of the superior apartment we’d reserved. We contacted customer service, but were told that number was for emergencies only until 10 am. They said to call after that, and gave us no information about the mistake in the meantime. The next morning they were very kind and promised to sort things out quickly. After around 10 calls, they offered 25% compensation on the original price and said we could move to the apartment we’d booked the following day. We got up early, packed our stuff, and waited for the cleaning staff, who were meant to arrive at 9 am. We waited until 12, called five times, and got no answer. We spent three days in Lisbon, and the failure of Rent Experience’s customer service to do its job ruined the trip. I hope nobody else has to deal with this on holiday. I do not recommend Rent Experience. The wrong apartment had several problems too: the bedroom windows wouldn’t close properly, the kitchen window was broken, and the couch was worn and disgusting. There was no hand soap in the bathroom, and the sewer smell in there was unbearable.
