There’s a huge range of food at Time Out Market Lisboa, from fresh fish and soups to burgers and Asian dishes. It’s handy with a group because everyone can pick something different, and there’s plenty of good quality food. The place has a lively feel, but evenings get very busy and you may need patience to find a seat. Worth a visit, just leave extra time for peak hours.
It’s a fun way to try several dishes in one visit, with seafood, petiscos, desserts and wine among the choices. The stalls offer a broad mix of high quality food, from traditional Portuguese dishes to modern takes and international flavors. The busy atmosphere still feels well organized, and the vendors’ quality is consistently high. Time Out Market brings the diversity and energy of Lisbon’s food culture together in one place. It does get crowded at peak times, but that’s part of the charm. A must visit for food lovers and a great introduction to the city’s food scene.
We tried the salted fish dishes and they were fresh, full of flavor and well prepared. Quality seems consistent across the stalls, which is impressive for somewhere this busy. There’s seafood, Portuguese classics, desserts, wine, street food and modern versions of familiar dishes, so you can sample all kinds of things in one place. It gets crowded, but the organization works and the place has plenty of energy. A safe, solid choice if you want variety without risking a bad meal. It’s a food market with a kind of controlled chaos of flavors.
We enjoyed a bowl of soup and a pastel before leaving, and both were good, though you can get them pretty much anywhere. The place is trendy, picturesque and very Instagram worthy, but it felt like a tourist trap and a rip-off to us. We love food, but small appetizer sized portions starting at €20, 30 or even €45 just weren’t good value. Maybe stop by on a rainy day if you have nothing else to do.
We went during Web Summit, and it was buzzing with conversations, energy and an international crowd. The grilled fish and prawns were both fresh, nicely seasoned and cooked just right. The fish had crispy skin and tender meat, while the prawns were juicy and flavorful. Fresh salad and warm bread rounded out the meal. A lively, social place for relaxed dinners as well as big events.
