Ando Living Madalena House

We spent three nights here and would stay at an Ando location again, for a short or longer trip to Portugal. The apartment was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. It’s handy for the sights, shops and good restaurants, and close to the water for morning walks or runs.

We stayed for a week in September, four of us in a two-bedroom, two-bath suite. The building is gorgeous, and the apartment had a living room where we could all hang out. We appreciated being able to use the kitchen, laundry and coffee. The windows did a great job keeping out street noise, which we’d worried about, and the neighborhood and building felt safe. It’s very close to Lisbon’s main shopping and tourist area. I gave four stars because I’d rather stay farther from the main shopping district, and hadn’t understood Lisbon’s layout well enough before booking. If that central location suits you, you’ll love it here.

We were broken into while staying here with our one-year-old. The police said the locks were like paper and could easily be forced past with a kick. That made the place feel unsafe. The apartment itself was nice, clean and well located, but its security needs to be improved before it feels safe to stay.

We loved this rental during our three-night stay. It was very clean, with beautiful, up-to-date furniture, and sits in a great part of town. Check-in was simple. Highly recommend!
