Getting into the building and checking in was easy, with the details sent by email. We booked the penthouse for four and loved it: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a very nice kitchen. Everything inside was pristine, and we didn't hear any street noise. The location was amazing, with just about everywhere within walking distance. I'd book it again on another trip.

Our top-floor two-bedroom unit was spotless and spacious, a great place to spread out. We could leave the window open for the street sounds, then close it when we wanted quiet. There were loads of places to eat and drink nearby, and it was lovely to walk down to the water at night. The only thing we missed was a washer and dryer, so we used a local laundromat. After a couple of weeks traveling around Spain and Portugal, this was easily my favorite stay. The location put us right among the tourist sights and everything else we wanted to do. We'd stay here again.

Apartment B on the third floor was spacious, clean, and had plenty of amenities. The location made it easy to walk to sightseeing, shopping, food, drinks, and nightlife, with public transport handy for anywhere farther away. Check-in was self-service, which gave me pause at first, but Pedro and Alexandra sent clear instructions and answered our questions quickly before we arrived. A full-length mirror, another mirror in the bedroom closets near the kitchen, and a few extra towels would be useful. Since our flight was in the evening and we couldn't stay in the apartment, luggage storage on site would help, although leaving our bags at the airport worked out fine. We had an amazing stay, look forward to coming back, and will gladly recommend the apartments. Thanks for having us!

The apartment was quiet, relaxing, clean, well maintained, and had everything we needed. Even on the fifth floor it was well air-conditioned, despite being on a busy tourist street. The penthouse worked perfectly for my family of five adults. The roof slopes in a few spots, so some of my family had to watch their heads, but that felt like a small tradeoff for such a good place. Communication was quick, and they gave us all the information we needed for our first trip to Portugal. When we found the sofa bed wasn't working properly, we let them know and they came to set it up right away, even at 10pm. The location was steps from just about everything you might need in Lisbon, including some top sightseeing spots. If you're driving, the building entrance is on a pedestrian-only street, so pickups and drop-offs have to happen on the parallel streets. We used a public paid garage near the closest McDonalds, which cost about 13 Euro overnight.

We picked a penthouse in August, and the central spot worked well for first-time visitors. The sloped ceiling, lack of conditioner, and street performances going late were all mentioned in earlier reviews, so we knew about those. What we didn't expect was the overpowering sewer odor in the entrance hall. It was strong enough to give us headaches, and we could smell it inside our apartment too. We tried to understand the cause. Staff blamed the Tagus River's “low tide,” and another review pointed to the garbage closet near the elevator. But two groups of friends staying elsewhere at the same time had no such smell. We noticed a sewer manhole just outside the entrance, and later saw a repair worker applying caulk to the access panel in the hallway, which is usually hidden under a large doormat. The same awful smell came up whenever we passed sewer manholes elsewhere in the city. It seems to me the property is above a municipal sewer line, though that's our conclusion from what we saw. The smell seems worse in the lower, flatter part of town near the river, especially Baixa, while the hillier areas didn't seem to have it. This feels like a structural problem the management can't fix. I'd avoid staying there in the dry months of July and August, when there may not be enough rain to flush the sewer lines. There are lots of places to stay in this busy tourist city, so I wouldn't put up with it. Bairro Alto and Chiado, around Baixa-Chiado metro station and Praca Luis de Camoes, seemed more charming and upscale to me, with the same tourist appeal but less intensity. Still, check reviews for odor complaints, since that could be a clue that a place sits over a sewer line. For a Porto and Lisbon trip like ours, I'd also leave more time for Porto, as many travel YouTubers suggest. Day trips from Lisbon are a must, especially SINTRA. While there, Azenhas do Mar viewpoint is a short 10 EUROS cab ride away. Cascais was great too. At Cabo da Roca, make sure you visit Praia da Ursa. We went to Ursa beach first, and its scenery and atmosphere were so lovely that Cabo da Roca felt like a letdown afterward. We stayed there only about 10 minutes, mostly for a bathroom break, LOL.
