Avenue Hill Hotel

The breakfast selection is quite limited, though what they do offer is fine. The rooms are clean and roomy, and the garden around the pool has a nice feel. It’s close enough to walk to the airport, while public transport makes getting to the city center easy. The staff were friendly and professional, and the hotel looks freshly renovated.

We only needed a night near the airport, and the hotel turned out to be more than a place to stop before heading home. It’s across from a park that was pleasant to walk through on our last day. Check-in and checkout were simple, the staff were friendly, and the room was clean, with comfortable beds and hot water.

The two dogs were the biggest problem for me. Their barking carried into the rooms all day and got worse at night. I was exhausted and still couldn’t sleep, then woke at 7 a.m. to the noise again. Having two dogs inside a hotel is unbelievable. Breakfast wasn’t appealing either. There were bugs on the food and flies landing on it and eating, so I lost my appetite and only had things from the fridge. The pool hours, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., were frustrating too. After checking in and taking a nap to recover from the trip, it was already closed. In summer, it should stay open until around 9 p.m. at least. There were some good points: the staff were very friendly, check-in was easy with a code sent by message, and the place was tidy and well maintained. My room had enough space to open a suitcase, plus AC that worked well and a fridge. I could leave my luggage before check-in and after checkout. The shower had strong, adjustable pressure and kept running.

The room was absolutely huge, and the hotel felt lovely and peaceful. Breakfast was good, and everyone on staff was very friendly. Chinevra especially was the best!
