The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the area felt safe. The hotel is right in central Lisbon, close to metro, bus and tram stops, and near Alfama and Rossio. Breakfast has a small selection, but it's fresh and tasty each day. Antiga wine bar is 100 metres from the hotel, with nice food, though you need a reservation. I highly recommend the hotel.

What was meant to be one night before a cruise became six after I lost my passport. While I sorted out an emergency passport, the staff went above and beyond to help this weary American feel as comfortable as possible. They made a difficult situation almost enjoyable. The location is lovely, with lots to see and do nearby and several good places to eat within easy walking distance. The rooms might feel a little small by American standards, but they're clean, comfortable and well appointed. Wonderful hotel and great staff.
The kind, attentive staff were the best part of our stay. They helped us with the room safe after I somehow messed it up, brought a shower chair for my spouse with mobility issues, and stored and delivered our bags when the room was ready. They answered questions, suggested restaurants and helped make reservations. I saw them treating other guests with the same care. I didn't expect that much attention from a small non-chain hotel. Bruna and Ricardo checked us in and were there each day of our four-night stay. Natalya and Deliane were also helpful, sweet and friendly; Sasha and Jenilson covered the desk at night, and Manuela and Lisandra kept our room spotless every day. Sorry if I got any names wrong. Thank you all for your warmth and kindness. It was my first time in Lisbon, and I'll come back partly because of you! The room was cosy, clean and comfortable, with a great view of Lisbon Cathedral and the street outside. It's closed to cars, so sitting at the cafe tables in front with a drink and watching people was especially pleasant. The street with car traffic is only a few steps away if you need an Uber or tuktuk. The hotel is well placed for Alfama and Chiado, the cruise terminal and the waterfront path that runs all the way to Belem. Breakfast was included and delicious, with house-made pastries, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, eggs, bacon, juice, yogurt and cereal. There were beans and roasted tomatoes for UK travellers too. There's also a full-service bar. I tried the sangria Espumante Copa with passion fruit and green apple, a delicious and welcome surprise. The hotel itself was great, and I highly recommend it.
The good atmosphere and upbeat staff made our stay. Bacalhoeiros 125 is cosy, clean, and serves a delicious breakfast. I usually choose four-star hotels, and this one easily matches them.
Before our cruise, we spent three nights at the hotel and had a delightful stay. Bruna, Richardo and Sasha were especially kind, helping us with restaurant suggestions and places to visit. The breakfast was great and the location excellent. We highly recommend staying here.
