Blue Liberdade Hotel

The room was on the small side, but they’ve made smart use of the space and it still felt pretty luxurious. We had a safe, mini fridge, hair dryer, and even a hair straightener, plus slippers, robes, a shower cap, vanity kit, and nice toiletries. Blue Liberdade was clean and modern, the staff were friendly, and the Lisbon location worked perfectly for us. We were really happy we picked it and would stay there again.

We spent three nights in Lisbon in February 2026, and the hotel was a great fit for a weekend as a couple. Most places were within a 15 minute walk. The room was small but spotless, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. They topped up the bottled water and complimentary mini bar drinks every day. Service stayed warm and attentive, and there was always coffee, pastel nata, drinks, and juice in the lobby.

I travel a lot for work, so comfort and convenience matter to me, especially when I’m away with family. After three days at Blue Liberdade Hotel, I’d put it at the top of the 30-plus hotels I’ve visited in Europe. I was surprised it only has three stars. To me, it beat many five-star places, and I’d give it six stars myself. The staff left a lasting impression. They were welcoming, attentive, and ready to sort out the several things I asked about during our stay. The rooms and hallways were spotless, the plumbing looked brand new, and the cleaning products left a pleasant smell. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and I loved the old-fashioned embroidered bed linen. The whole stay was organized with our comfort in mind. I came away very impressed by the hotel and its staff.

We were able to walk to Castelo de São Jorge, Areas - Alfama, Baixa, Bairro Alto, and the waterfront from here. After a full day out, the complimentary lobby drinks, especially the wine, were a lovely way to relax. Breakfast was fresh and delicious each morning, and our room was very clean with a lovely bathroom and quality amenities. The staff were warm and helpful throughout our five nights. We enjoyed the stay from start to finish and would gladly recommend it and come back.
