The host was very kind, but the apartment looked nothing like the photos. The rooms were small, up in the attic, damp and had no air conditioning. Cleanliness was seriously lacking, and the place felt like an unsanitary maze instead of somewhere welcoming. The windows opened onto a terrace that was moldy too. Noise went on constantly from early morning until late at night, and was deafening. This was easily the worst place I've ever stayed.

The location is great, and there's enough room for 4-7 people, with several bedrooms and a large, bright living room. The building's age does mean there's a damp smell, and the place needs a thorough cleaning. It could be good value for money at a lower price.

We'd booked months ahead and paid in full, but the host cancelled just 5 days before we were due to arrive without giving any reason. Now we're stuck trying to find somewhere at the last minute. The service was terrible, really inconsiderate and unprofessional.

Getting around was easy, whether we walked or took transit, and the place worked well as a base for seeing Lisbon. It wasn’t especially quiet or tucked away, though, and one bathroom had a really bad sewer smell.

Right in the middle of everything, this apartment was clean and had the modern basics we needed: a washing machine, oven, fridge, and two bathrooms with showers.
